Founder in Horses.

Hey Everyone !
Its monday :(
Even though its everyones least favorite day of the week i thought i would blog and at least give you guys something to do.

So today I want to talk about a rather serious topic.
Founder in horses. For those of you who don't know  Founder is a common and very painful condition affecting the feet of horses. Known technically as laminitis, founder occurs when there is inflammation of the laminae (folds of tissue connecting the pedal bone to the hoof).

Now once a horse has foundered it is very hard to keep them from foundering again but some simple things can be done to keep this from happening.

This such as keeping their sugars down is essential. To keep a horses sugar down there are a few easy things you can do. Keep them out of the grass because grass has a lot of sugar in it. Also keep them off of the sweet feed. By doing these two simple things you can easily ensure that you are fighting the founder away.
